I am courage.
I believe strongly in sacrifice without expectation and putting service before self. I understand that freedom is not free and that I need to do my part to preserve it. I will be a strong example for my children, always. I am muscle tempered with intelligence. I am prepared for the inevitable and capable of the impossible. I believe in the honor that comes with giving everything, even when everything is not enough.
I am the Courage Games.
I believe competition brings out the best in all of us. I am camaraderie and cooperation. I am family in every sense of the word. I know that there is no substitute for hard work. I understand that the strength of any community or nation is found in its willingness to stand behind those who stand up for us. I am the only international, joint-forces athletic event that celebrates the courage of our men and women in uniform.
Join us for an exciting weekend of competition, camaraderie and a celebration of Courage! Your participation helps raise awareness of the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform and their families make every day in service of our country.
The Games are an opportunity for thousands of members of the armed services, veterans and their dependents from the various components (Active Duty, Reserves and National Guard) to participate annually in creative and quality, inter-service, inter-component and inter-unit athletic competitions.
Communities are encouraged to support and compete against the military with open registration being held for the Fitness Challenge and Golf events.
Starting with festivals in three regions in 2012, the Games will be expanded in 2013 to all 8 regions and will also include the 1st Annual Courage Games National Championship.
